The yard of the National military museum in Sofia is very symbolic to me. I remember the first time I went there – we were two friends, we low stone fence of the yard and climbed over them to go inside. Very, very dumb, as the doors were wide open just few metters away and we didn’t have to pay tickets for the outer yard.
And something odd – on my first date with my Beloved guess where I took her… Yes, that’s right! In the Military museum, walking among all these rusty machines. How strange that she’s still in love with me after this!
The military museum in Sofia is a place where you can see amazing things and in the same time feel helpless and angry in the face of the total demolition and decay. That’s symbolic too. All these weapons, which served in good and bad times for protection and for victories over enemies, are left quite neglected in the open yard. It’s a grim scenery, disgraceful for a modern country.
For the purpose of this article, I prefer to show some of the most remarkable vechicles in the museum. Another post will be published with an accent on the decay. Enjoy now!
